Hi guy's,
I've been trying to get the ShowTec dimmerbars and ShowTec Lightbricks to work.
I've got:
Chain:
E-cue Excite
ShowTec Lightbrick
Martin 1200 smoke machine
Star cloth
Robe 250AT spots
ShowTec Dimmerbar
Atomic
ShowTec Dimmerbar
When 1 open channel 1 - 512, smoke works, atmoic works and stars work. That's it.
All Showtec and Robe stuff doesn't work.
The Showtec stuff doesn't recieve the DMX. (no 'recieve' light) But is halfway down the chain and the atomic does work.
The Robe didn't recieve any either. (flickering Address)
Does anyone have an idea?
I have not tried a DMX splitter in the beginning of the chain yet, might have worked.
The line was only 15m to the first fixture and then connected with 2 and 5m DMX cable's.
It was only for 1 show, but it's not the first time this happend.
I've had some other ShowTec bars ones, didn't do a thing either...
Weird note, I've normally got 26 ShowTec LED par's and multiple scanners and heads on the same excite plug, work like a charm!
We've even had robe scanners, lasers, victory 250's, 101's, no problemo.
Hope to hear from you guy's soon!

Hi Rens,
i also worked a while ago with some showtec stuff and what helped here, especially with a lot of fixtures was a DMX terminator.
Just connect one at the very last fixture`s output.
Did you try this already?
Best regards,
Jens

Yes I did.
No it did not help.
I've heard a guy say thay I should change the DMX refresh rate, but I couldn't find that.
Still, some stuff worked down the line. And even the robes didn't work.
I'll drop by the rentall company sometime and try some stuff.

Hi Rens,
I also worked a lot with the early Robe moving heads and effects back in the days using e:cue and it was never an issue...
What you could try is to set down the DMX refresh rate,. correct.
This can be done inside the device manager, just double click onto the butler and then you can find it t the very end of the window, inside the Timing settings.
Best regards,
jens

Hi Rens,
sorry to say that, but start simple:
Connect every Fixture as a single to the DMX output and try to control it.
In the end you will found that every single Fixture will work. But not all together.
Sometimes this combinations didn´t work and if you must use a DMX-Switch for each family of fixtures...
P.S.
DMX is not Science, it´s magic

@Jens
I've got an excite, so I can't change the refreshrate unfortunately. Or am I wrong?
@Kuni
Actually, you should be a bit sorry... I am not that stupid. I've tried them one at a time, didn't work. But you are right, clean and clear troubleshooting is the best, since obvious things are the biggest problems. Did you switch it on? Does it have power? Master fader? Sad thing is, in this case, it was all rentall stuff, so I can never really redo what I've done wrong. Not the same cables, fixtures etc.
I might have to start to learn how to program and use a pearl.
I've even tried 2 diffrent laptops, same problem. It's just wierd that one fixture can handle the DMX and the 2nd doesn't but the 4th does! Do Martin Atomic's rebuild the DMX signal? Or are the in- and output hardwired? And what about a Martin 1200 smoke machine? I think they are since the power can be switched off and the rest, usually, works.

Thank you guy's for thinking along!
